You may have received this political brochure in your mailbox recently. The mailer was sent by the campaign of public defender, Sajid Kahn.
The mailer insinuates that DA Rosen is perhaps not Pro-Choice.
First off, that’s absolutely 100% false. DA Rosen is 100% Pro-Choice.
Secondly, this cynical attempt to try to fool voters is a slap in the face to every woman concerned with the imminent overturn Roe v Wade by today’s conservative Supreme Court majority.
But the truth is it’s NOT the first time Sajid Kahn was out of touch on criminal justice issues important to women.
After the furor over the light sentencing of Brock Turner Sajid Kahn said as a public defender he thought the sentence was just right.
“The sentence Judge Persky imposed upon Mr. Turner is exactly what I would want for a public defender client of mine under similar circumstances.”
Kahn tried to apologize for his insensitive quotes and scrubbed his social media. But some bells just can’t be unrung.
